WHO WE ARE

Rakshna Child Guidance Center started its journey in 2004 in the field at child welfare with the noble object to provide holistic development to children with special needs. The center is situated at Madurai, Tamil Nadu.

Early intervention plays a vital role in a child’s life.

Objectives of Rakshna Child guidance centre

  • To provide early intervention services to children with special needs.
  • To facilitate individualized skill training, based on child’s needs.
  • To educate and train the parents in dealing with the holistic development of their children.
  • To successfully mainstream children with special needs into the normal school/society.
  • To create public awareness on Autism and learning disability.

Age Limit

Children within the age group of 16 months to 7 years
Both boys and girls will be taken

Special Features of Rakhshna
Rakshna is not a special school. It’s a training centre.
A child with any kind of problem can be referred to the Rakshna CGC, can get the service according to the need. After collecting basic information from parents, Psychologist will assess the child. Appropriate services will be provided according to the need of the child.

  • One hour per day for a child. (Weekly 2 or 3 classes for a child)
  • Individualized training (one to one) to all children.
  • Individualized curriculum for every child.
  • Motivate and train the mother to train the child at home more in day-to-day activities
  • Play way method
  • We will teach in a way the child learns rather than in the way we expect the child to learn
  • Integration into the regular school
  • Minimal fee structure with maximum benefits
  • In the last 13 years, out of a total of about 600 children trained at the center, only 1% children have been referred to special schools by us. All other children have been integrated to regular schools.
